Gazprom Expands Its Arctic Potential: Record Gas Reserve Growth Driven by Arctic Fields
In 2025, Gazprom continued its systematic strengthening of its resource base, achieving its most significant results on shelf fields in the Arctic. This was reported by Chairman of the Management Committee Alexey Miller at the company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
In 2025, the Gazprom Group once again achieved a gas reserve replacement ratio above one, which is twice the global average. Total reserve growth from exploration activities alone amounted to 437.3 billion cubic meters. Miller emphasized that the most substantial reserve increases were recorded on the Russian Arctic shelf in the Barents and Kara Seas.
The Gazprom Group’s fields that delivered the largest gas reserve growth on the Arctic shelf in 2018–2025 include Leningradskoye, Ludovskoye, Ledovoye, named after V. A. Dinkov, 75 Let Pobedy, and Nyarmeyskoye. Over the entire period, reserve growth at these fields totaled 2.29 trillion cubic meters.
